A multinational manufacturing and technology company decided to take steps to optimise its workforce with a combination of manpower reduction and strategic hiring across its global business segment.
The company planned to reduce its workforce by over 3,000 production and non-production employees over two years as part of its transformation plan towards a leaner and more efficient organisation. During this period, the workforce reduction would be partially offset by hiring in certain growth areas to enable the company to resize in-line with the ongoing business needs and to increase its competitiveness.
A Leadership Talent Mapping and Succession Analysis was proposed by Jordan Sheppard, which served as a guide to the Executive Leadership team and HR organisation to align expectations and provide criteria with which to decide whether to focus on internal or external talent, at the same time allowing a deep insight into the market.
The provision of upfront intelligence with regards to market conditions, talent availability and competitor assessment proved to be an invaluable tool for both recruitment and general business strategy, resulting in an external benchmarking/ reconnaissance, discovering high potential and seasoned talent with the skills necessary to excel in target roles and a DNA that fits our client's Corporate Culture.
